Starting from the 2024/25 season, the solidarity contribution for clubs not participating in European tournaments will increase to seven percent, which, according to the European Leagues Association (ECA), amounts to a sum of 308 million euros. Previously, this percentage was at four percent, equating to 175 million euros.

In total, the solidarity contribution adds up to ten percent. The remaining three percent is allocated to clubs, for instance, those eliminated in the play-offs. For example, Rangers FC received a solidarity contribution of five million euros this season because PSV was too strong for the Scots in the Champions League play-offs.

In addition to the increase in the solidarity contribution, UEFA announces that the revenue distribution key for European tournaments will be adjusted. Starting from next season, clubs will receive a higher percentage of money for achievements such as qualification for main tournaments (from 25 percent to 27.5 percent), victories in the group stage, and qualification for the knockout stage (from 30 percent to 37.5 percent). The market pool and coefficient bonus components will be merged and will play a less significant role than before (from 45 percent to 35 percent).

From the 2024/25 season, the three UEFA tournaments will undergo significant changes, resulting in more European matches being played. UEFA and ECA projections anticipate that earnings from the new tournament formats will increase from three and a half billion to five billion euros per season.
