The farewell at Bayern Munich hurts me

Sadio Mané has personally confirmed his departure from Bayern Munich. The much-discussed forward will sign with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia this week.

The 31-year-old Mané came over from Liverpool last year for over thirty million euros, where he had become a star forward.

The expectations at Bayern were therefore high, but the collaboration did not work out well for both parties due to various reasons. Al-Nassr is now picking up Mané. "The farewell at Bayern hurts me. I know I could have helped the team this season and wanted to prove it. I wish the club and the fans the best for the future."

Joshua Kimmich disagreed with all the criticism and defended Mané. "He alone was not to blame for it not working out with us. The bigger picture was not right anymore. He had a very good first half of the season last year and also delivered good statistics. When you are a new player abroad with a new language, culture, and people, and you come as a top star and receive a lot of criticism, sometimes justified, sometimes unjustified, I can imagine it's not easy."

Mané is expected to undergo a medical examination by Al-Nassr in the coming days.
