Ten Hag without Zirkzee and Malacia at training camp

Manchester United announced their squad for the training camp in the United States on Wednesday afternoon. Manager Erik ten Hag will have 29 players at his disposal, but Dutch players Joshua Zirkzee and Tyrell Malacia are not included.

The two are not joining the training camp for various reasons. Zirkzee is still on vacation after his participation in the European Championship with the Dutch national team, while Malacia stays in Manchester to continue his rehabilitation from a knee injury.

Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martínez, and Luke Shaw are the other notable absentees.

Ten Hag has, however, included his other multimillion-euro acquisition, Leny Yoro, in the training camp squad. The inclusion of Yoro highlights the manager's intention to integrate new talent into the team dynamics. Alongside him, several key players are making the trip to the United States, including Christian Eriksen, Rasmus Højlund, Scott McTominay, Andre Onana, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, Casemiro, Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Antony, Amad Diallo, and Jadon Sancho.

This training camp in the United States is a critical part of Man Utd's preparation for the upcoming Premier League season. The team will face Real Betis, Arsenal, and Liverpool in three friendly matches, providing valuable opportunities to test strategies and build team cohesion. The presence of new manager Arne Slot at Liverpool adds an interesting dynamic to the match, as he begins to shape his team.

The camp will also serve as a platform for Erik ten Hag to assess the fitness and form of his squad, integrate new signings, and make tactical adjustments. The absence of some key players due to injury and other commitments means that others will have the chance to step up and make an impression ahead of the new season.

Manchester United's pre-season preparations are always closely watched, and this year is no exception, with fans eager to see how the team will perform under Ten Hag's guidance. The matches against top-tier opponents will be a significant test and a preview of what to expect in the highly competitive Premier League campaign.
