After a loan spell at Birmingham City, Hannibal Mejbri is set to return to Manchester United this summer. However, it remains uncertain for how long, as Borussia Dortmund, among others, is closely monitoring the situation of the twenty-year-old talent.

Erik ten Hag allowed Hannibal to gain experience last season during his loan spell at Birmingham. In 38 Championship matches, the midfielder contributed with a goal and five assists (along with ten yellow cards). Hannibal hopes for a new chance at Old Trafford, but it is still unclear whether Ten Hag believes in the Tunisian player.
According to Manchester Evening News, Hannibal is expected to get an opportunity during the pre-season tour in the United States. However, it cannot be ruled out that United may part ways with the talent earlier. Borussia Dortmund is reportedly willing to offer fifteen million euros, including bonuses, for his services. It is unclear if United is open to a permanent sale.
Sell-on clause Hannibal joined Manchester United four years ago from AS Monaco for ten million euros. It is evident that United wants to make a profit on the player. The English powerhouse may choose a similar path as with Zidane Iqbal, who is on the verge of signing a contract with FC Utrecht. United included a future sell-on clause in that agreement.
Hannibal has made three appearances in official matches for United thus far. He made his debut on the final day of the 2020/21 season in an away match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
