Lamine Yamal has withdrawn from the Spanish national team. The sixteen-year-old forward is returning to Barcelona due to a minor muscle injury.

Last month, Yamal made his debut for Spain and immediately scored in the European Championship qualifier against Georgia (1-7). However, for the crucial matches against Scotland and Norway, national coach Luis de la Fuente is not calling upon the great talent. After consultation between the medical staff of the national team and that of Barça, it has been decided that it is better for Yamal to take a break.
After all, Yamal has already become a regular force at Barça, for which he has played eleven times this season. The home-grown winger has already set several records. However, he must now take a precautionary step back. Spain is not calling up a replacement, since Ansu Fati (Brighton) and Bryan Zaragoza (Granada) were already added to the squad following the withdrawal of Yeremy Pino.
Meanwhile, the infirmary at Barcelona is quite full. While Yamal's injury does not seem serious, the same cannot be said for that of Jules Koundé. The 24-year-old defender withdrew from France on Monday with a knee injury and, according to Spanish media, will miss El Clásico (October 29), among other matches. Frenkie de Jong, Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, and Raphinha are also sidelined with injuries.
