Matheus Nunes continues his career at the Etihad Stadium. Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester City have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Portuguese player to the reigning champions, according to various media reports. Tommy Doyle is going the opposite way and will thus start working at Molineux.

Nunes makes the move to the reigning champions for 55 million euros. An earlier offer of 54 million euros for the Portugal international, who has been capped eleven times, had been rejected. The inclusion that Doyle, with a transfer value of fifteen million euros, will be loaned to The Wolves for five million euros likely tipped the balance.
The midfielder had previously set his sights on a move to the treble winners. After The Citizens had a 45 million euro bid for the Portuguese player rejected, Nunes even went on strike. As a result, he also didn't appear on the training field for two days, leading to a disciplinary suspension.
The 25-year-old Portuguese, who made a 45 million euro move from Sporting to England last summer, still had a contract with Wolves until mid-2027. Nunes has been brought in by The Citizens as a replacement for the long-term injured Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian is sidelined for months after undergoing hamstring surgery.
