Crysencio Summerville had the option to stay in the Premier League this summer. However, the 21-year-old Rotterdam native remained loyal to his relegated Leeds United and now excels in the Championship every week.
Last Saturday, Summerville played a pivotal role in Leeds United's impressive comeback against Norwich City (2-3) with two goals. Leeds manager Daniel Farke is effusive in his praise for his winger. 'Crysencio is a true footballer; it's a pleasure to watch him.'
'When you see a player handle the ball like that, it warms your heart. We always talk about his productivity; he needs to work on his goals and assists. That's the final step he needs to take. Today, he showed that he's on the right track.'
This season, Summerville has notched up four goals and two assists in nine matches. After the game, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the Dutchman is still on the radar of several Premier League clubs.
However, to play against Manchester City and Liverpool again next season, Summerville doesn't necessarily need to change clubs. Leeds United is currently in third place and is actively competing for promotion to the top tier. So, the chances of the former Feyenoord player playing in the Premier League next season are growing on two fronts.
