An offer of over 175 million euros has already been rejected by Liverpool, but it's still uncertain whether Mohamed Salah will remain at Anfield at least until the New Year. Several reliable English media sources indicate that Al-Ittihad is planning to make one more attempt.

31-year-old Salah is at the top of Al-Ittihad's wishlist, and they are willing to go to great lengths for the Egyptian international. If Liverpool had accepted the previous bid from the Saudi club, Salah would have already been among the top three most expensive players ever. In history, only Neymar (€222 million) and Kylian Mbappé (€180 million) have been paid more.
However, Liverpool rejected the proposal, stating that they do not want to sell Salah. Nonetheless, Al-Ittihad is not easily deterred and is planning to increase their offer once again, in an ultimate attempt to persuade Liverpool. The specific amount is not mentioned in the reports, but it exceeds the previous offer of over 175 million euros.
Salah has been playing for Liverpool since 2017 and extended his contract with the club just last year, until mid-2025. In return, he receives a weekly salary of around €408,000. It's an astonishing amount, but in Saudi Arabia, he could potentially earn even more. Al-Ittihad previously acquired Fabinho from Liverpool. Additionally, Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kanté are also on their payroll.
On Sunday, Salah scored in Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa. "I've never had any doubts about his commitment to this club," said Jürgen Klopp about his star player after the match. "There's a lot of fuss being made, but we remain very calm about it. Mo is our player, and he wants to be here."
Clubs in Saudi Arabia have until Thursday to sign new players.
