Marco Asensio, who swapped Real Madrid for Paris Saint-Germain this summer, has set himself a specific goal for his first months at his new club: mastering the French language. He revealed this during an interview at the club's training camp in Japan.

In an interview with RMC Sport, Asensio spoke about how his adaptation is going: 'I already knew a few of the guys, which makes it somewhat easier. But I still want to learn French so I can communicate with everyone. Right now, we mix Spanish and English, but learning French is the easiest way. Not only to talk to the players but also with all the other people who work at PSG. I want to get to know them too. I hope to be able to make myself understood by the end of the year.'
Asensio also explained why he chose to continue his career at the Parc des Princes. 'Above all, it's about the project and ambition. I'm at an important moment in my career and wanted to take a step forward. I believe PSG is the perfect club for that, also to win trophies,' said the son of a Dutch mother.
The forward also dismissed the notion that he felt misinformed: since his presentation, the French champions changed the coach. But Asensio is also positive about working under Luis Enrique. 'We worked together at the World Cup, we've known each other for a long time, and our relationship is very good, like he has with all the players.'
