Porto coach sneers: 'Played against more than one club'

Sergio Conceição, the coach of FC Porto, was not really pleased with the refereeing after his team's narrow defeat against Barcelona on Wednesday evening. The Portuguese manager insinuated dark matters.

Porto, which lost 0-1 at home to the Blaugrana, shouted for a penalty twice that was not given, and the blue and white fans also thought that Barça player Gavi should have seen his second yellow card earlier in the Iberian match-up. Coach Conceição was angry afterwards.

'I've just said it a few times, but we played against more than one club,' AS recorded from the coach's mouth. A message with a double meaning: on the one hand, 'more than a club' is the literal translation of Barcelona's club motto Mes Que Un Club, on the other hand, it is hard to see the former winger's comment separate from the bribery scandal in which Barcelona has become a suspected party.

Barcelona is Group H leader after the victory in the neighboring country. Porto has three points and saw Shakhtar come alongside on Wednesday evening with a handsome victory against Antwerp FC. The champion of Belgium is at the bottom after two rounds.
