Newcastle United strengthens the squad with Lewis Hall. The eighteen-year-old left-back is loaned from Chelsea with an option to buy.
According to English media, the buy option becomes permanent if Hall meets certain performance conditions. In that case, Newcastle will transfer an amount of over 33 million euros to Chelsea.
What's remarkable about this transfer is that Hall has been a supporter of Newcastle since he was young, and now his dream is coming true. 'I am very proud. My family and I are fans of Newcastle, and as my brother and I were growing up, Newcastle was ingrained in us. It's a big club, and I can't wait to get started,' Hall said via Newcastle's club channels.
Hall is certainly not the first player to be brought in by Newcastle this summer. Sandro Tonali (AC Milan), Harvey Barnes (Leicester City), Tino Livramento (Southampton), and Yankuba Minteh (Odense BK) were signed before him. Minteh was immediately loaned to Feyenoord. Hall's move to Newcastle indirectly benefits Ian Maatsen, who now has one less competitor for his position at Chelsea.
