Narsingh prepares for his third foreign adventure in a short period of time

Luciano Narsingh continues his career in Cyprus. Nea Salamina Famagusta announced on Tuesday morning that they have reached a preliminary agreement with the 32-year-old winger.

Narsingh is a free agent after leaving Polish club Miedz Legnica, where he scored five goals last season in the Ekstraklasa (Poland's top professional league).

However, in recent months, the nine-time international winger was no longer assured of a starting position and ultimately didn't fully meet expectations. Earlier this month, the club announced Narsingh's departure.

Thus, the former SC Heerenveen, PSV, and Swansea City attacker finds himself embarking on his third foreign adventure in a short span of time. After leaving Feyenoord in the summer of 2021, following a six-month loan spell at FC Twente, he joined Sydney FC at the beginning of last year. However, his stint in Australia was short-lived, and his time in Poland lasted only a year.

Once the final formalities are completed, Narsingh will try his luck in Cyprus. Nea Salamina was promoted to the top level last season and finished seventh. Five Dutch players, including Patrick Joosten (Apollon Limassol), Mounir El Allouchi, Samir Ben Sallam (both Karmiotissa), Bert Esselink, and Sam Hendriks (both Olympiakos Nicosia), played in Cyprus last season.
