Mohammed Kudus has joyfully responded to his transfer to the Premier League. The Ghanaian swapped Ajax for West Ham United, fulfilling a dream.
I wanted to play in the Premier League," Kudus revealed through his new employer's official channels. The left-footer netted three times for Ajax in the Europa League match against Ludogorets just last week, but now he's a Hammer. "And now I'm also joining a club where I know I can further develop."
That club is West Ham, the winner of the Conference League. A detailed plan was in place for Kudus, the new signing explained. "A project was presented to me, in which the club outlined how it wanted to evolve. Significant talents are coming to the club, while attractive football is the objective. That aligns with my ambitions and my goals as a player.
"It felt amazing," Kudus explained his choice for the current Premier League runner-up. "I followed my instinct at that time. I do that with most of my decisions. They come from the gut. My gut feeling led me to West Ham."
Kudus is the second Ajax player to land at West Ham after Edson Álvarez. The club also brought in James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos. Seven points have already been collected in the first three matches.
