The French Players' Union, UNFP, has once again urgently advised the revision of the international playing calendar. This is in response to the numerous injuries in the French camp.

Not only the Dutch national team faced a wave of injuries, but France too has been plagued by injuries recently.

For example, Eduardo Camavinga suffered a severe knee injury during a training session with France, and Warren Zaïre-Emery is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, which he sustained on his debut following a tackle from an opponent.

This was enough reason for the UNFP to issue an official statement on Wednesday. 'We were right. We knew it. We said it. Repeatedly, even. And we said it again. But although the people who need to listen to us are obliged to do so, it is rare that they actually listen to us.'

Therefore, the players' union made another appeal. 'It is high time for a thorough reform of the playing calendar. These are the first signs of an even deeper crisis, which will ultimately also harm the spectacle.'
