Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will likely soon be able to call upon Luke Shaw again. The English international has been seen participating in group training in the lead-up to the league match against Everton.
The 28-year-old Shaw has been sidelined since mid-August with a muscle injury, but has now left Manchester United's crowded sick bay. The English club announced on Wednesday that the left-back has resumed training with the first team.
Shaw has only made two appearances this season for Ten Hag's team, who has been unable to call upon Tyrell Malacia for the entire year. The Dutch international is expected to return to the squad around the New Year following an earlier surgery.
Due to the injuries of left-backs Shaw and Malacia, United decided in August to take Sergio Reguilón on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. This season, Ten Hag has also used Sofyan Amrabat, Diogo Dalot, and Victor Lindelöf for the left-back position.
While Shaw is on the mend, Christian Eriksen, Rasmus Højlund, and André Onana have reported to the sick bay during and in the lead-up to the international break. Ten Hag is also unable to call upon Lisandro Martínez, Casemiro, and Jonny Evans.
