En-Nesyri still had a contract in Spain until mid-2025. There was interest not only from Turkey but also from AS Roma, which was keen on the forward.

Although both clubs have not disclosed the transfer fee, Turkish media report a figure of twenty million euros excluding bonuses and an annual net salary of four million euros. Fenerbahçe announced that he will travel to Istanbul on Wednesday for the medical examination and to finalize the transfer.

The 27-year-old forward broke into professional football at Málaga. In mid-2018, he transferred to Leganés for six million euros, and a year and a half later, Sevilla paid twenty million euros for him. There, he was a rival to Luuk de Jong for a while. En-Nesyri scored a total of 73 goals in 196 matches for Sevilla. He has 58 caps for Morocco. During the World Cup, he became a hero by shooting his country to the semifinals in the match against Portugal.

En-Nesyri's journey through professional football has been marked by significant milestones. At Málaga, he showcased his potential, which led to his move to Leganés. His performance at Leganés caught the attention of Sevilla, where he truly made his mark. Competing with established players like Luuk de Jong, En-Nesyri managed to stand out, becoming a crucial part of Sevilla's attacking lineup. His tenure at Sevilla was characterized by his goal-scoring ability, making him one of the key players for the club.

Internationally, En-Nesyri has been a vital player for Morocco. His performance in the 2022 World Cup was particularly noteworthy, where he played a pivotal role in Morocco's historic run to the semifinals. His decisive goal against Portugal in the quarterfinals made him a national hero and highlighted his capability to perform under pressure on the world stage.

With this transfer, Fenerbahçe’s new coach, José Mourinho, is likely welcoming his seventh summer signing. Previous arrivals include Çaglar Söyüncü (Atlético Madrid), Allan Saint-Maximin (Al-Ahli), Oguz Aydin (Alanyaspor), Rade Krunic (AC Milan), Levent Mercan (Fatih Karagümrük), and Cenk Tosun (Besiktas). These signings indicate Mourinho's intent to build a strong and competitive squad for the upcoming season.

Mourinho's recruitment strategy appears to be focused on bringing in experienced and versatile players who can make an immediate impact. En-Nesyri's addition to the squad is expected to enhance Fenerbahçe's attacking options significantly. His proven track record in La Liga and on the international stage makes him a valuable asset. The club's supporters will be eagerly anticipating his arrival and hoping that he can replicate his goal-scoring feats in the Turkish Super Lig.

In summary, Youssef En-Nesyri's move to Fenerbahçe represents a significant step in his career. The Turkish giants are making a bold statement with this signing, aiming to compete at the highest level both domestically and in European competitions.
