FC Volendam reaches agreement with Schalke 04

Derry John Murkin leaves FC Volendam for Schalke 04. The clubs have agreed on the left-back, who has already been spotted in Germany to finalize his transfer.

Only a medical examination and some formalities stand in the way of Murkin's transfer to Schalke, but it all seems to be on track. Murkin still had a contract with Volendam until the end of the season.

The exact amount Volendam will receive for Murkin is not clear. However, it is apparent that Volendam rejected two bids, reportedly around 500,000 euros and 800,000 euros. Afterward, the clubs quickly reached an agreement. The transfer fee includes bonuses as well as a sell-on percentage.

Not much is known about a successor yet. Vimoj Muntu Wa Mungu from Paris Saint-Germain was considered by Volendam, but according to French media, he is moving to Italian club Torino.
