Kuol had been high on the list in the fishing village for some time, as stated by Technical Director Jasper van Leeuwen on the club's website. 'Now was the moment we could find a good solution with Newcastle. He is a highly talented attacker who can play in multiple positions and can add things to our game. Especially his depth and directness towards the goal are strengths that we can make good use of.'

Kuol signed a contract with Newcastle earlier this year, having been acquired from Central Coast Mariners. During his loan spell at Scottish club Heart of Midlothian, he struggled to make a significant impact. In Volendam, the forward, who appeared in two matches for Australia during the World Cup in Qatar, hopes to take the next step in his still young career.

Volendam starts the new season in the Eredivisie on Friday. They will face Vitesse at home, with Dennis Higler as the referee for that match.
