Kevin De Bruyne has the opportunity to clinch the Player of the Year award in the Premier League for the third time in four years. He is one of the six candidates for this prestigious award.

The PFA (Professional Footballers' Association) further nominates Erling Haaland, John Stones (both Manchester City), Martin Ødegaard, Bukayo Saka (both Arsenal), and Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur).
The primary contender to clinch the individual award appears to be Haaland. With 36 goals in 35 matches, he had an unprecedented debut season in England. He secured the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League titles with Manchester City. The Premier League title was won after a comeback at the expense of Arsenal.
The award has been won by four Dutch players in the past. The most recent was Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) in the 2018/19 season. Earlier recipients include Robin van Persie (2011/12, Arsenal), Ruud van Nistelrooij (2001/02, Manchester United), and Dennis Bergkamp (1997/98, Arsenal).
