Two days before the start of the new season, Thibaut Courtois has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

The player will undergo surgery in the coming days, as confirmed by his club Real Madrid. Due to the injury, the 31-year-old goalkeeper will be unable to stand between the goalposts for at least six months.
According to an eyewitness, Courtois screamed in pain and immediately grabbed his knee during a training session with The Royal. He was said to have left the field in tears.
Real Madrid lacks considerable experience behind Courtois with Andrii Lunin, Diego Piñeiro, and Fran González. It's highly likely that the club will delve into the transfer market to replace the Belgian."
