Danilo has been on the radar in Glasgow for a while now: 'We've been following him since his time at Ajax

Rangers FC already had Danilo in their sights during his time at Ajax. That's what manager Michael Beale said about the 24-year-old Brazilian, who put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Scottish top club on Friday.

Later in the day, Danilo will travel with Rangers to Germany, where they have a friendly match scheduled against 1899 Hoffenheim on Saturday. "Danilo is a player I have personally been following since his time at Ajax," Beale said on the club's website about their newest acquisition. "He broke through on loan at FC Twente and returned to Ajax before joining Feyenoord last summer."

At Feyenoord, Danilo showcased his qualities. "His goal-scoring rate per minute is very good. He is a fantastic player who enjoys scoring goals. I believe he fits well into our team and provides us with more options in attack. Danilo is very eager and believes in the plan we have for him. That was the key in the negotiations."

Danilo signed a five-season contract with Rangers FC. At Feyenoord, Ayase Ueda from Cercle Brugge is mentioned as a possible successor to him.
