David Beckham supports Erik ten Hag as manager of Manchester United, which has lost six of the eleven official matches this season. The former Mancunian hopes that there will soon be more clarity about who gets the power at the English powerhouse.
Beckham was present at the Formula 1 race in Qatar on Saturday and spoke there about the current situation at United, where he played in the first team from 1992 to 2003. The former English international supports Ten Hag, who secured a narrow victory over Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
'I think Ten Hag is a good coach. It's just a difficult time for him, also because of all the commotion around the club. That doesn’t make it any easier for him. We all want that noise to go away and for a decision to be made quickly for the club, the fans, the manager, and the players. There needs to be stability,' Beckham told Sky Sports.
Preference
The current co-owner of MLS club Inter Miami is referring to the ongoing takeover battle at United. Both a Qatari consortium and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe want to take the reins at the record champions of England. The current number ten in the Premier League is still owned by the Glazer family.
'We all have a preference for who should lead the club and bring it back to the top. United is one of the biggest clubs in the world and perhaps the biggest. I think I know who the most suitable people are to lead the club. Whether that's Sheikh Jassim? We'll see,' said Beckham.
