It is expected that Lionel Messi will make his debut for Inter Miami later this week. The Major League Soccer club will play against Mexican Cruz Azul next Friday.

Co-owner David Beckham strongly hints at a debut for Messi and Sergio Busquets in that match. Both players were announced by Inter Miami this week. "No matter how high their level and how big their status is, both of them need time to adapt," Beckham states in American media. "Leo will play a portion of the match, but it's up to the coach and Leo himself to determine if he's ready. But he looks fit."
Inter Miami was able to secure Messi on a free transfer as his contract with Paris Saint-Germain had expired. He played for the Parisian club for two years. Messi also drew interest from Al-Hilal and Barcelona but chose Inter Miami for various reasons. In addition to Messi and Busquets, the club also welcomed Jordi Alba.
Meanwhile, Inter Miami is benefiting greatly from Messi's arrival. The stadium is already sold out for Friday, and there is now a waiting list for season tickets. To be on that list, a payment of €175 must be made, and there are no refunds if it doesn't work out. Tickets for Friday's match are already being offered at inflated prices on resale websites.
