Arsenal is incredibly frustrated about Jurriën Timber's injury. Due to cruciate ligament damage, there's a high likelihood that he won't be able to play for the remainder of this season.
In the match against Nottingham Forest, Timber got injured after an awkward collision with an opponent. Shortly after, it became evident that the situation doesn't look promising, and it's uncertain if he can still participate this season.
'A massive blow, especially for him, as he has just arrived here. But also for the team, because we brought him in with a clear purpose. His role within the team was significant, and now he can't fulfill it anymore. We need to adapt now, as unfortunately, these kinds of things happen, but we must move forward,' says manager Mikel Arteta.
For Timber, the priority now is to come back as strong as possible, but Arteta has complete faith in him. 'He's doing well, he's a remarkable individual. He still needs to grasp the extent of this injury and how long he'll be out, but he's in good hands.'
This summer, Timber made the transfer from Ajax to Arsenal for approximately forty million euros. In his first two matches, the Dutch international secured a spot in the starting lineup, and Arteta had an important role in store for him.
