Kai Havertz is the new acquisition of Arsenal. The 24-year-old German joins from Chelsea, where he has been under contract for the past three years.
Arsenal reportedly transfers an amount of around seventy million euros to Chelsea. With bonuses, this amount can increase by a few million. The German will wear the number 29 jersey at Arsenal.
"I'm super excited to come to this amazing club and be part of the Arsenal family," Havertz tells the club's website. "This club has such a great history, and I hope we can achieve many things. The mentality within the Arsenal squad is really good, and you can feel it."
His new manager, Mikel Arteta, is delighted with the new addition. "Kai is a top-quality player. He has great versatility and is an intelligent player. He will bring a lot of extra strength to our midfield and variation to our game. We welcome Kai and his family to Arsenal, and we are all thrilled to work with him when we start preparing for the season."
Havertz has been a regular starter at Chelsea in recent years. In 139 official matches, the German scored 32 goals. In 2021, he won the Champions League with the London club.
