Sofyan Amrabat has spoken for the first time as a Manchester United player. The midfielder made the move from Fiorentina to the team led by coach Erik ten Hag just before the transfer window closed.
"I was eighteen, nineteen years old, and he gave me the chance to play in the first team of Utrecht," reflects 27-year-old Amrabat on his earlier time with Ten Hag at MUTV.
"We had a fantastic time, a very good season. I learned a lot from him. So maybe he is one of the most important people in my career at the moment."
Amrabat sees similarities between himself and his coach. "I think Ten Hag is a coach who will always go to the extreme. He is hungry. He wants to win. I love that. I think I am like that too, I am also a winner. I want to win every day, so it's a good match."
The former Feyenoord player, who will wear the number 4 shirt, is proud to be the first Moroccan at Manchester United. "I think a lot of Moroccans already followed United, but now there will be an extra million fans from Morocco. And they are so, so proud."
