AC Milan continues its pursuit of Reijnders

AC Milan is making serious efforts to secure the arrival of Tijjani Reijnders. AZ has received an initial offer for the 24-year-old midfielder, who has a five-year contract waiting for him in Milan.

The future of Reijnders has been dominating the Italian headlines for several days. The likelihood of Pascal Jansen welcoming his protege this week for the start of the preseason is diminishing.

Milan has made an initial offer of nineteen million euros. However, AZ is aiming for a higher amount.

Despite extending his contract until mid-2027 earlier this year, it appears that Reijnders will not remain with AZ. The Zwolle-born midfielder drew interest from several foreign clubs due to his excellent performances in the knockout stages of the Conference League. Milan is now making a decisive move.

Technical director Max Huiberts stated to VI at the end of June that the intention is for Reijnders to continue playing for AZ next season. Coach Jansen later echoed those sentiments, saying, "We will certainly do everything we can to ensure he stays with us. But I can't say which way it will go."
